National Food Holidays are great for so many different reasons: (1) They give a spark to the day in the food department, (2) they make it so you can justifiably eat something that isn’t always healthy as a result of it being a holiday and (3) they allow food truck owners to change up the menu, even if it’s just for a day.
The best thing about food holidays? There are so many of them … every single month. What’s not to love about that?
Now, in this industry, attracting customers is always a must. After all, the more customers you attract, the more money you make — well, typically, that is. As a result, you have to always be thinking of new ways to get people to your truck, and a great way to do that is by incorporating National Food Holidays, even if it’s just every now and then.
In the spirit of that thinking, we will be listing off 10 food holidays mobile kitchens owners should watch out for in October. We encourage you to incorporate some of these holidays during October in hopes of attracting more customers. Add your own twist to the day with your unique recipes, and make sure to promote these meals on social media.

Why Food Truck Owners Should Embrace The Pumpkin Spice Flavor
“So here’s what we suggest: Come up with the perfect pumpkin spice treat for your truck (it can be a latte, because people are still in love with them, or whatever you would like it to be), and then start marketing it like crazy via social media. You will literally lure people to your truck just to try out this new pumpkin spice dish, and while they are there, they will see how great your business is, which could lead to them ordering an entire meal.”
Food Truck Owners Can Finish The Last Few Months Of 2017 Strong With These Tips
“6. Stick to what is working and eliminate what isn’t working. You should have a pretty good idea on this subject since your food truck has been going strong all spring and summer long (you might even stay open year-round, which means you have plenty of data, if you will, to pull from). As an example, if a certain item isn’t performing, meaning no one is ordering it, then you might want to consider replacing it with an item that you think will do wonders at your truck. The same thing goes with your locations, social media strategies, marketing strategies and everything, really.”
“2. The Anything-Is-Possible Mindset
Every business owner should have this mindset. After all, you didn’t start up a business (in this case, a food truck) to be average. You started up a food truck business because you wanted to be a successful cook and have a thriving business. You think anything is possible, because with hard work, a great plan and action … anything truly is possible.”
There is still plenty of time to make all of your goals come true for 2017, so make sure to put your foot on the gas pedal, and keep on truckin’. Stay motivated, stay passionate, stay persistent and be the person who makes all of his/her dreams come true!
Happy fall, FoodTruckrs!
