What’s Your Biggest Weakness As A Food Truck Owner?

Editor’s Note: Today we’re excited to present a post from Jeremy Adams. Jeremy is the President/CEO of Prestige Food Trucks, which is the world’s leading custom food truck manufacturer. In his current role as President/CEO, Jeremy manages dozens of employees, interacts with clients, and maintains a healthy relationship with all of his business partners. Since Prestige, Jeremy has launched many other successful companies.

While everyone’s answer is different, we wanted food truck owners to ponder this question: What’s your biggest weakness as an owner?

Perhaps your greatest passion is cooking food, so you struggle in the business, customer service or marketing/advertising departments. Maybe you’re an entrepreneur and you have all of those things covered … but your weakness comes in the cooking department.

We aren’t trying to point weaknesses out for the sake of pointing them out. Instead, we encourage food truck owners to reflect (and analyze their situations) in hopes of becoming successful owners in all food truck departments.

Sign up to receive the FoodTruckr Newsletter and we’ll throw in our free guide: 6 Free Social Media Tools to Get People Talking About Your Food Truck.

Now, we understand it’s natural for someone to rely on strengths and push off or avoid weaknesses altogether. However, if you plan on growing — and seeing even more success at your business — then you need to face your weaknesses head-on. You need to improve in these areas.

We understand it’s hard to get out of your comfort zone, but that alone could be holding you back in the food truck industry. The key is giving this venture everything you have and going for it. You’ve already taken the risk that’s starting up your own business and entering a competitive industry — now is not the time to hold back.

Whether you analyze yourself or your business (we recommend both), we encourage owners to figure out their weaknesses. It could be your managing style. It could be your negotiation skills with vendors (or just not taking the time to find the best possible deal). It could come in the technology department.

The point being, your biggest weakness could come in a number of different areas … but we want you to try to figure out what it is. Do your best to recognize and improve on it.
