At FoodTruckr, our passion and purpose is to support your food truck business—whether you’re just getting started or you’ve been in operation for a decade. We do that by providing you with insights and resources to support your planning, marketing, and day-to-day needs.
In order to better serve you and support this industry we care about so much, we’ve identified a need—to know more about the industry as a whole. Such industry insights will greatly help expand food truck empires for one and all. And much peace and prosperity will ensue across the kingdom.
With our trumpets out and banners flying, we’re super proud to announce an exciting new FoodTruckr initiative…
We’ve created a comprehensive survey to capture key information about your food truck business—as it stands now, where you’ve been, and where you’re going.
The information that you and other food truck owners share will help us create the 2014 Food Truck Industry Report. This report will provide you and your peers with invaluable data about how your business compares to the industry norms and outliers.
Don’t worry, there will be lots of fancy charts and graphs—but more importantly, key insights into what successful trucks are doing to increase profitability and keep their trucks on the road.
The survey is open only to existing food truck owners with businesses based in the United States. Even if you’ve only been in business for a day, you’re eligible. If you’re still in the planning process, you’ll have to wait until next year.
The survey will capture a wide range of general information about your business, including questions on:
Here are a couple of sample questions:
Your answers combined with answers from other food truck owners will yield great knowledge about the current state of the food truck industry. And we all know that knowledge is power, especially in business.
No sugarcoating though—the survey will take about 30 minutes to complete. But considering the ample benefits all food truck owners could enjoy from a complete Food Truck Industry Report, we believe the time investment is well worth it.
Here are a couple more critical reasons to participate:
Have you ever wondered how your business matches up to other trucks on the street? Perhaps you’re leading the way on street sales, but you just can’t figure out the catering market.
The 2014 Food Truck Industry Report will help you figure out how your business is doing in relation to other food trucks, allowing you to identify potential areas of new business and shore up “squeaky wheels.”
Where do successful trucks make most of their profit? How do successful trucks market themselves? Does a successful truck really need a website?
The 2014 Food Truck Industry Report will identify the practices of successful food trucks so that you can emulate them in your own business.
The answers to your questions will be housed on SurveyMonkey.com and will only be viewed by members of the FoodTruckr team. We will only use them in the aggregate, meaning in combination with all the other answers. We will not publish any unique identifying information about you or your truck.
We do have a series of optional, open-ended questions at the end of the survey. If we find your answer to one of these questions particularly intriguing or enlightening, we may reach out to you to see if you’d be willing to discuss it further. However, we will not share your name or any individual information about your truck without your express, written permission.
You can feel comfortable answering these questions honestly, knowing that all your information will be kept anonymous.
Don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten about you! The results of this survey will inform our “How to Start a Food Truck” series and help us bring you the best practices to implement in your new business—so that next year, you can take FoodTruckr’s Annual Food Truck Industry Survey, too!
The survey is only open to owners of existing food trucks based in the United States.
