2017 is a new year, and it just so happens to be a couple of days away. This should be a huge blessing for food truck business owners who didn’t meet all of their goals in 2016. After all, 2017 provides mobile kitchen owners with a fresh start. Take advantage of this golden opportunity.
One of the main goals food truck owners should be focusing on in 2017 is gaining more customers. The reasoning behind this is simple. More customers means more sales. More sales, of course, means more money coming in for your business. More money means you can hire more employees, expand, perhaps upgrade your food truck, etc.
While you likely have plenty of goals in 2017, make sure you are focusing on gaining more customers. That alone could take your business to the top. With that in mind, here are three ways to gain more customers in 2017.
Digital marketing (or marketing in general) is so important for a business. And no, the food truck industry is no exception.
Digital marketing might not be your thing. Heck, you might not even know how to run a Facebook account. That is okay as long as you hire someone to take care of these needs. You see, digital marketing can help you lure more people to your website, it can help you gain more followers on social media, it can help said followers stay informed and entertained and the list of possibilities could go on and on. This is so important because all of this could lead to you gaining more customers. Remember, more customers means more money for your business.
That is why you have to pick up your marketing game in 2017, lunch truck owners. At the very least, more people will become aware of your food truck business, and that’s never a bad thing.

No, we are not saying you should fire your current employees and replace them with new ones. We are saying this, however: If you need to hire more employees (perhaps 2017 is the year you finally hire your first employee), then make sure you hire passionate ones. If your employees are passionate about the food truck industry, food and people in general, then that is really going to show, and your customers will take notice.
This could lead to you having an amazing — and friendly — food truck community. Customer service, especially in this industry, is so important. If your food is amazing and you have great customer service on top of that, then your mobile kitchen is going to be the talk of the town.
Bad customer service alone — even if the food is delicious — could lead to a business losing customers.
Perhaps you don’t offer daily specials at your food truck. If not, that might be the way you change up the menu in 2017. Another way is to add a new line of foods, or a new meal. After that, you can use digital marketing to get your followers, customers and fans pumped up for this new meal, which could lead to some serious foot traffic at the beginning of 2017. That sort of trick seems to be doing wonders for restaurants like Carl’s Jr. (marketing/advertising a new meal) — and that’s just one example.
The key here is to do something different with your menu so you can lure in customers to try something new. That alone might not lead to you having the most successful year ever, but it could certainly help, and it could help you gain new customers in 2017.
Looking to start your own food truck? Prestige Food Trucks can do wonders for you in that department.
