We all do it. We all find ourselves going through the motions, even when we’re working at our dream jobs or pursuing a path we wanted to go down.

Going through the motions is inevitable.

However, below we will be featuring three ways to not go through the motions in the food truck industry.

Sign up to receive the FoodTruckr Newsletter and we’ll throw in our free guide: 6 Free Social Media Tools to Get People Talking About Your Food Truck.

3 Ways To Not Go Through The Motions In The Food Truck Industry

  • Be Present
  • Change Things Up
  • Create An Environment That You Love

3.) Be Present

This is easier said than done. After all, it’s not always easy to enjoy the moment, live in the present and forget about worries and problems.

We understand that, but you can stay off of your cell phone and engage with your employees and customers. You can also focus on the task at hand, which likely involves taking orders and making food.

You can’t be in two places at once — no one can. Give your food truck business all of your attention while you are working. This will help you not go through the motions because you will be focused on the present and what’s going on at your truck.

2.) Change Things Up

There are people who stick to a routine minute by minute and hour by hour … and there are people who don’t.

Nonetheless, you are your own boss and you own your business, so you can change things up however you would like and however many times you want. This could involve incorporating food truck events and catering gigs from time to time, venturing to new locations, staying open at different times of the day or whatever it might be.

When we do the same things over and over again, we tend to get complacent and go through the motions. We go into autopilot mode. By changing things up (however you see fit for your business), this will happen less often.

1.) Create An Environment That You Love

While all of these things are easier said than done, it’s all about incorporating new strategies and figuring out what does and doesn’t work for you and what will also lead to success at your food truck business. With that in mind, it might take some time to create an environment that you not only love but that your customers and employees also love.

Many successful food truck owners create communities and businesses that people actually want to be at. They feel a certain way when they venture to these food trucks (kind of like the pleasure people get when walking into a coffee shop).

There’s no reason why you can’t do this as well.

By creating a friendly environment that you love, you will want to be present at your food truck and every day will be an adventure (if you will). In the process, you will likely go through the motions less.
