Food Truck Owners Need To Give It Everything They’ve Got In 2018

Editor’s Note: Today we’re excited to present a post from Jeremy Adams. Jeremy is the President/CEO of Prestige Food Trucks, which is the world’s leading custom food truck manufacturer. In his current role as President/CEO, Jeremy manages dozens of employees, interacts with clients, and maintains a healthy relationship with all of his business partners. Since Prestige, Jeremy has launched many other successful companies.

2018 is almost upon us, and if you are like so many other people, then you didn’t meet all of your 2017 goals (perhaps you are on the verge of doing so?).

We aren’t saying that is necessarily a bad thing. After all, you still managed to own and operate a food truck all year long, which is quite the feat in itself. Not to mention, your goals might have been rather tough to achieve, and falling short on some of them still could have led to a record year in the sales department at your food truck business.

Nonetheless, if you want to look back on 2018 and be blown away by everything you achieved, then you need to give said 2018 everything you’ve got.

Sign up to receive the FoodTruckr Newsletter and we’ll throw in our free guide: 6 Free Social Media Tools to Get People Talking About Your Food Truck.

You can do that by not only creating goals, setting deadlines and coming up with plans for each one … but also monitoring your habits. In fact, instead of making so many goals (this is especially for people who struggle to hit their goals), why not focus on creating good habits?

For example, let’s say a writer wants to write a new book in 2018, so that is this person’s initial goal. While that is a great goal to have, it is a near impossible one to hit if the person in question does not have any writing habits down in the first place. In other words, if this person is going from no words per week to 10,000. Instead, this person should focus on writing, let’s say, 500 words every morning, night or whenever he/she has the time to spare. In time, this person will finish that book.

We want food truck owners (aspiring and current alike) to look back on next year around this time of year and be so proud of everything they accomplished. However, we know that isn’t going to happen unless FoodTruckrs put in the work. Doing the same things over and over again will simply lead to the same results — just as a friendly reminder.

That is why focusing on your habits and goals is the key, not just focusing on your goals. Your motivation for your goals is only going to last so long, and that is why many people say you need to add a deadline and make a plan for each and every goal. This plan is going to create your habits, and in no time said plan will become second nature.

Of course, we also don’t want these goals to feel like a chore, so here are two tips in that department: (1) Incorporate a strategy that works for you … the strategy that has always worked for you when it comes to achieving goals. (2) Make sure you are really passionate about these goals. Therefore, don’t just make goals to make them. Make goals because you actually want them to come true, you know what it will mean if they come true and they will take your career to greater heights if they come true.

You really can have everything you want as a food truck owner. Heck, you could build a food truck dynasty if that’s what you really want. However, it all starts with you giving it everything you’ve got in 2018. It all starts with you getting smarter about your work — well, being more productive, if you will. It all starts with you being passionate about your job each and every day. It all starts with you testing new strategies out, coming up with new sources of income, creating your food truck dream team, creating an amazing work environment for everyone involved and just giving this dream of yours (being a food truck owner, that is) everything you’ve got.

It all starts with you.

Good luck in 2018, FoodTruckrs!
