There are an endless amount of ingredients (and metrics) a food truck owner needs to monitor.
With that in mind, we pose this question: Do you monitor the below ingredients on a consistent basis?
There are many different things to track when looking at your social media numbers, such as comments, likes, shares and clicks. These metrics are important because they will give you an idea of what your customers and followers like and what they don’t like.
Social media is a great tool (if you will) to increase your audience and to also target your audience, and it can be done for cheap (or free) and from the convenience of your own home.
There are many aspects to a successful food truck business, and social media is one of them.

This is tougher to monitor from a number standpoint, but you can, at the very least, see what people are saying about your food truck on platforms like Yelp and your social media networks.
While you shouldn’t take every complaint or request to heart and change your business as a result, it’s important to listen to all of your customers in hopes of taking your customer service to the next level. After all, it’s all about the customers. Plus, bad reviews are not good for business, especially if you don’t fix mistakes that need to be fixed.

This is another ingredient that’s hard to track because numbers aren’t involved. However, it’s an ingredient that can’t go under the radar.
If your employees aren’t happy, then they might not treat your customers properly, or their bad moods could simply rub off on your customers which could create an unenjoyable environment and community. While that might sound extreme (not to mention you hired all-stars), you’re running a business, and part of being a good business owner is creating a good environment for your employees.
It takes some time to create an enjoyable atmosphere and community at your food truck. Over time, you will be able to tell when changes need to be made. Sometimes the change can be as simple as playing music at your mobile kitchen. Sometimes the change comes in the form of a serious makeover.
Nonetheless, the happiness of your employees and community are things you need to monitor.
