Change up your locations? We know what you are thinking. You can’t just park your truck wherever you want, and whenever you want. That’s Food Truck Knowledge 101. With that said, it’s not impossible to find a better location, one that is filled with more foot traffic than your normal location. Reminder: We aren’t talking about the best spot downtown (although that would be awesome), because that spot is probably already taken.
We are talking about finding a spot like a business district, which is a place that is booming with people during lunchtime. While we aren’t saying to change up all of your locations, if one location is lacking in the customer/sales department, then try to replace it with a new one.
On top of that, you can enter more catering gigs and start going to food truck events (of course, make sure you pick the right events). We can’t stress enough how beneficial catering gigs are, and the same thing goes with events.
With a catering gig, you are cooking at a place in which you know people are going to order food — that’s the point of them … a lot of hungry mouths need to be fed. You are also going to serve customers who have never eaten at your truck before. If you rock this gig, then who knows what will happen to your business, for you never know who you are going to meet at one of these catering gigs. Plus, if you do a really good job, then you might book your next catering gig at your current one.
Remember, the key is exposure, and catering gigs, events and venturing to new locations will help you achieve that feat.

Devise A Better Social Media Plan
If you are having trouble reaching your audience, gaining new customers or whatever it might be, then you might want to consider devising a better social media plan. If you don’t update your social media networks, then that is a major problem in itself.
With social media, you can literally reach a large amount of people with minimal effort, and at a low cost (you don’t even have to spend a dime if you don’t want to).
Most social media aficionados in the food truck industry stay up to date with their accounts by posting pictures of their food and telling customers where they will be next, and that’s exactly what you should be doing as well.
If you really want to get people to your truck, and gain more attention/exposure in the process, then you can hold giveaways on social media. These giveaways can consist of you giving away gear (shirts, hats, etc.) with your logo and food truck name on them, and they can also consist of you giving away free food, even if it’s just a side or dessert.
