FoodTruckr Heroes: Rockstar Bakeshop

We love food trucks of all shapes and sizes here at FoodTruckr, but we’ll always have a soft spot for dedicated sweet shops.

It takes a lot of hard work to make it as a food truck that only sells desserts. While other trucks can hit office parks and busy downtown streets to serve hungry lunch crowds looking for convenient meals, dessert trucks must woo fans that are willing to splurge on tasty gourmet sweets. And in a day and age where seemingly everyone is watching their waistlines, this is no easy feat!

Fortunately, our latest FoodTruckr Hero is up to the task. Rockstar Bakeshop calls themselves “Dallas-Fort Worth’s Mobile Gourmet Sweet Destination,” and with so many delicious desserts available, they’ve earned the title!

Check out just a few of the sweet confections they have to offer:

  • A full lineup of whoopie pies with creative names like the “Salty Dog Blues” (chocolate cake with peanut butter, salted vanilla buttercream, chocolate chips, and cashews) and “Shout at the Devil” (a tempting blend of chocolate cake, chocolate liqueur buttercream, and chocolate shaves)
  • Puddings—including the Chocolate Custard Pudding with Oreo Cookie Crumbs and the White Chocolate Pudding with Mixed Berry Coulis
  • Mini Cakes
  • Tarts
  • And more!

In addition to this mouthwatering menu, we also adore Rockstar Bakeshop’s truck, appropriately named “Layla.” Their bold truck wrap with white and black diamonds, pink graphics, and styled lettering is equal parts punky and sweet.

We’ll be talking about the importance of a great food truck design and artwork later this week on “How to Start a Food Truck,” and this sweet truck is a great example of branding and art done right. From the truck design to the musically-themed dessert names to their truck stops known as “tour dates,” Rockstar Bakeshop has a developed and well-executed theme that surely sounds like sweet music to their fans’ ears.
