There are many different types of people entering the food truck industry these days, such as entrepreneurs, first-time business owners, cooks, chefs and the list could go on and on.
However, some people might be surprised to hear that restaurant franchises have jumped aboard as well.
For the restaurant franchises that haven’t joined the food truck industry yet, we will say this: We highly recommend it.
For starters, if you are thinking about opening up a second, third, fourth, fifth or sixth location (or however many it is), then you might be interested to learn that mobile kitchens tend to have lower startup and overhead costs than sit-down restaurants.
And, of course, food trucks are businesses on wheels, so they could really help take your catering services to the next level. They could also help you expand your audience/gain more customers since they can technically go where the people are.
A food truck is basically a mobile billboard that sells your product, and if people are already very familiar with your brand/restaurant/logo, then a food truck business could be very profitable, to say the least.
A lot of the hard work, such as gaining customers and spreading brand awareness, will already be in the books since you already have a familiar company/brand. That will, ideally, let your manager of the food truck do what he/she does best, which is cook food and make customers happy with said food.
Half the battle in the food truck industry is building a following (that’s a battle everyone faces in any industry), but that battle will already be taken care of since your following has already been built out, or that is at least the idea.

On top of everything else, food trucks are “in.” They are trending. They are very popular destinations in downtown areas and/or where a lot of people can be found.
There is a reason why so many apartment complexes and businesses announce via email when food trucks are coming, and there is a reason why people get excited when a food truck(s) is nearby. People love food trucks, and that is not going to change anytime soon.
